TOW - Nagging Curiosity [Collab] — Description

Season: Fall 2024 (Summer 2024 in scene)
Location: Near Volaires' border
Prompt: 'Here I am, just as strange as you.'
Summary: The flood was over and Taegan and her puppies were reunited with Eigel. Gudrun bade the group farewell and headed back for Volaires, but she had an unexpected accomplice, Weston. She knew him to be kin of a former Mesana of Volaires, but he was also Eigel's nephew. She wasn't sure why Wes was following her, but she was hardly given any time to wonder as the little Loner had tons of questions of his own. He was rather blunt and sometimes overly bold, as most juveniles his age were, but the respect he held for Gudrun was evident in his awestruck eyes. Every day, he had a fresh set of inquires about her past and her fighting skill; not all of them got answered but he was persistent.
One evening, when they had stopped to rest, Gudrun asked a question of her own. "Before the flood, had you always traveled alone?"
Weston hummed pensively for a second, then shook his head. "I was for a bit... but I met this guy, Zeke. He's around my age, we traveled together for a while last winter. He was at Grotto as well, but he left... somewhere," Wes furrowed his brow at that. He normally didn't worry about Zeke's whereabouts, but the sudden disappearance was a little odd. "Golden fur, black mane, blue eyes... and a big scar on his back..."
Wes fell silent a moment, recalling the conversation he and Zeke had shared about 'scars'. The thought was quickly cast aside when he saw Gudrun was waiting for him to go on. Wes stared at the marks on Gudrun's face, particularly the ones that weren't there when he had last seen her, months ago on the Volaires border. The teen's eyes twinkled mischievously, then he leapt into Gudrun's forelimbs and rolled over onto his back. He looked up at her with playful eyes and patted the side of her face with a small paw.
"Speaking of scars... How did you get yours?" Wes chirped curiously, not in the least bit afraid of a disgruntled Gudrun.

Another wonderful collab with @McLoven55 , featuring their Gudrun and my Weston x3. I did the sketch, lines and colors while they did the shading and the gorgeous bg ;o;. I absolutely adore how this turned out, I can't stop staring at the colors and details on the BG, the shading look so good here too! ;_; (sniffles)
A sweet and goofy bonding scene between tough warrior lady and crazy wild child. Their dynamic is so fun and wholesome, Wes probably wishes his real mom was as cool as Gudrun x'D. Of course, he wants to hear all the epic tales of danger and adventure. Poor Gudrun is stuck with him until they part ways on the Volaires border x3
